Labadee, is RCCL’s Private Paradise
on the North coast of the Island, far away from the devastation of earthquakes
and hurricanes.
Click the link to read all about it, saving
space for more of HIS musing.
We slid into the exclusive port at 8AM and
out at 5:30PM. We would have preferred
that time frame for Puerto Rico instead, but then RCCL couldn’t grab all that
extra revenue at the bars, zip-lines and various attractions, and $$ percentages
from all the private vendors.
As the title describes, just a another lazy
day at another Beach, but without myriad of Bars and Restaurants like St
Maarten, so not much to report there.
T7 strolled along the beach until, Lenny and
Mark came, saw and went back to lounge at the pool onboard. They weren’t interested
in the Beach BBQ [a reason that may be discussed later... or not].
T2, Chucky and DL spent half a day on the
Beach, lounging in the shade – the sun was brutal – watching the world’s
longest zip-line and feasting on the tasty BBQ prepared onboard and served
adjacent to a massive seating area on the beach.
At the adjacent mini-village of native tchotchke
vendors DL and Lydia scored some native junk metal sculptures for gifts and
that was about that.
Around 2PM they headed back to the ship where
T2 and DL headed to the pool to find T1+Mark and a bar.
Chucky’s tummy had not been doing well for
the past few days so he took a nap, and later knocked out the post on Puerto
Rico.
Dinner again, was so-so,
with Chucky and Lydia taking a chance on the Eggplant Milanese. Shoulda had the Penne Arrabiata as the Milanese
was nothing like they expected, still on a scalding plate, so… how come the
eggplant was cold on the top and luke warm on the bottom?
Lenny took 2 shots at
a plain version of the Ginger and Soy encrusted Salmon. Both times, ice cold. It
is apparent that while they promise you can “Have It Your Way” [apologies to
Burger King} special orders seem to throw the kitchen into chaos.
Once again a parade
of Chefs to the table, once again the same empty platitudes, once again a
hungry Lenny.
Tomorrow is a Sea Day, with one night left for them to try and get a hot meal to the table, in the Main Dining Room, but we’re not taking bets on it.
A Stroll around and through the Casino for after dinner cocktails and Cognac, a look at the Artwork and then with Remy in hand, the NOWAT for today was completed.
